"Ms. Angela Abduh, what a lady with a loving heart, kind and sweet to everybody around her, turned tragedy to a loving grace to help others. Known for more than 10 years, she accompanied her grandmother to my office before her cancer but a graceful survivor. Many thought she would not walk anymore but she proved everybody wrong with her conviction to live and rock this life for many more years. Ms. Angela Abduh is a trailblazer and I appreciate her zeal to help others be aware of Cervical Cancer not only treatable, but increase awareness with annual pap smear and treatment of HPV."

"Moon River by Henry Mancini is the theme song for the film classic BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S, which is one of my very favorite movies. Moon River is a song about longing for adventure and embracing life's journey, not necessarily a romantic love song. Personally, after my experiencing disabilities and being isolated
from the very active, spiritual, social, professional, civically engaged, community-involved, and family-oriented life I once lived, pushing through and enduring a season overwhelmed by a depressed state and barely being able to cope with physical and emotional pain as well as suffering from memory loss became my new normal. As a result of my battle with cancer, like the song laments, I too felt the longing for adventure. And although I have been blessed to become able to venture out and do so much more over the recent years than I could do in the beginning of my journey through being diagnosed, fighting and now surviving cancer; still my entire being yearns to have the freedom and independence that I am fortunate and very grateful to have experienced before cancer. Which, if I can be honest, has all culminated to be a very rude and unpleasant awakening throughout repeated hospitalizations, through surgeries, years of grueling physical therapy accompanied by debilitating chronic pain and so many other unexpected complications, life-altering disappointments and monumental challenges.
The "Moon River" itself is a metaphor for life's unpredictable path, representing both the exciting possibilities and potential heartbreaks along the way. It's a song about finding one's own way, perhaps even with a partner, but ultimately, finding satisfaction in the journey itself. Here's a more detailed breakdown:
• Metaphor for Life:
The river is a powerful symbol for the course of life, with its twists and turns, and the potential for both joy and sorrow.
• Longing for Adventure:
The lyrics express a desire to explore and see the world, symbolized by the "rainbow's end".
• Embracing the Journey:
The song suggests a willingness to go wherever life takes you, even if it's unpredictable or challenging.
• Not Exclusively Romantic:
While it can be interpreted as a love song, the "Moon River" is not necessarily tied to a romantic partner. It can be a love song for the spirit of adventure itself.
I am grateful to God for keeping me through it all and guiding me as I surrendered to His will, not only embracing the journey but recognizing my renewed and reassigned purpose in life. Which includes now having a powerful testimony of God's mercy, His power of healing, His faithfulness and the liberation achieved for myself, as I forgive others as I have been forgiven through salvation. I believe that humanity's separation from God due to sin is overcome through the sacrificial death and resurrection of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ. I believe in atonement. Jesus' sacrifice atones for the sins of humanity. I believe in justification. We believers are declared righteous in God's sight through faith in Jesus, Christ. I believe in sanctification. We believers are in the process of becoming more and more like Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. And I believe in redemption. As it is written, believers are promised to be bought back from the bondage of sin and death.
Basically, salvation through Christ is the core message of Christianity, offering hope and transformation to those of us who believe. And I believe!" -Angela "The Survivor Diva" Reese
